Company information: Our client is a Singaporean retail specialist specialized in distribution of luxury products. In order to expand the business in Vietnam, they are setting up a new office in Ho Chi Minh City and now in need of a General Manager as below:

Salary: $4000 +

Responsibilities:

Position Summary:

The  position  is  responsible  for  developing  and  managing  the  operational  functions  for  Company.  You  will be accountable to all P&L and operational expense budgets for Company. Being the custodian to the brand, you will develop  and  implement  strategic  plans  to  share  best  practices  and  support  Company’s  market  presence  and growth.

Detailed Responsibilities/ Accountabilities:

1.Business Management

  • Manage business reporting to principal and fulfil all requirements on Annual Purchase / VM / Marketing & Sell Through trends
  • Annual Budgeting and business planning
  • Responsible for early commercialization process including positioning, packaging, pricing, gaining support from the team, presenting to retail operations team, forecasting volume, and getting budget approved.
  • Setting SOPs and KPIs according to best industrial practice and needs of Brand
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation
  • Management of cross-functional partnerships with support/ operational team
  • Develop and implement strategic plans and goals for the stores, including expense budgets
  • Align operations across territories of the brand

2.Line Management

  • Recruit, hire, promote and retain talent
  • Lead and Influence the team to grow productivity & capability of individual direct reports , SIC & staff
  • Provides leadership and direction to all stores to drive KPIs maximising Brand’s performance
  • Identify and manage learning and development opportunities to address progression needs and improve employee skill set levels to support career growth

3.Sales Growth Functions

  • Day-day management for brand (forecasting, sales updates)
  • Accountable for the P&L and operating budget of the brand
  • New initiatives to increase average basket size as well as average order value
  • Work towards target set to achieve overall gross profit percentage
  • Development of marketing strategies with sales aid/promotional materials with the support of Marketing team to drive optimum brand presence so as to promote sales growth.

4.Ensuring Optimal Variance of Product

  • Ensure VM guidelines are executed at store level
  • Inventory Control for maximum turnover and effective forecasting with disproportionate focus on bestsellers
  • Analyse consumer trends, information and categories to identify market demand so as to support future sources of growth
  • Input and advise rationale behind setting of new product pricing with Merchandising team
  • Analyse historical product launches, reports on vitality rates as well as drive improvement for YOY KPIs

5.Critical Results:

  • Store operations program for retail stores that enables strong execution in the stores to deliver against
  • strategic and financial objectives
  • Engaged, high-performing  field  team  and  collaborative  cross-functional  teams  recognized  for  driving successful results through operational excellence.

6.Decision making:

  • Prioritization & delegation of tasks within assigned tasks
  • Management of issues relating operations, resourcing, budgeting and audit compliance
  • Approval of expenditure within delegated limit
  • Coach and mentor staff performance
  • Promotions for approved headcount

After consultation with manager or others

  • Resolution of decisions which involve or impact the company or other functions
  • Implementation of programmes/ changes to SOP
  • Increase in expenditure which has not been approved

Requirements:

Suggested Qualifications and Experience:

  • 5 years with at least 2 years in similar capacity in Retail Operations and Management
  • Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently in fast pace environment
  • Statistics and numbers driven with knowledge of financial drivers
  • Resourceful with strong planning and organization skills
