Techcombank appoints a new expat CEO
Techcombank officially named Mr. Simon Morris a British national as the successor for Mr. Nguyen Duc Vinh, the current CEO. This new appointment will take effect from January 01, 2012. Mr Vinh will take the role of Vice Chairman instead. Simon Morris will be the very first expat taking the role of CEO at a Vietnamese bank in Vietnam. This assignment indicates something new in such a challenge situation of banking industry in Vietnam. -
Vietnamese bank C.E.O can earn up to 20 billion dong a year
Today, Vietnam has more than 50 joint stock commercial banks; it means that there is a same number of C.E.O for each bank. There is no survey to measure how much is their salary? But people believe that their salary perhaps is the highest salary in Vietnam and C.E.O has 20 billion VND a year (around 970,000 USD).
